The recent Indiana anti-illegal alien bill was scuttled when the Republicans, who had initiated it, walked out after someone added an amendment criminalizing those who hire illegals. So far, no Indiana 3rd District Republican has answered my simple question, "Why did you dump your own anti illegal alien bill?"
Twenty-four years ago, Simpson-Mazzoli emphasized fines and possible jail time for CEOs and others who hired illegals (obviously as cheap labor). Because the enforcement aspect was purposely underfunded, few if any were hauled away in 'cuffs.
Republicans will do nothing really effective at the border, but will enable their fat cat contributors the freedom to continue hiring illegals in the work place - as American workers continue to lose their jobs at increasing rates! The Republican opponent I face is even softer on illegals than his party. In old-time radio days, The Shadow would cloud the issues as he pursued justice amidst the confusion. Now it's just the opposite - the Republicans are busy confusing us. They know that without strict penalties against the employers of cheap illegal labor, nothing will change.
If illegals can't get our jobs, they will go home - that is, as long as Democrats don't give them welfare and SSI. Most Democrats would bring in every immigrant in Latin America to maintain or gain power through the vote. Although numerous rich Democrats profit greatly from the illegal alien invasion, Republicans are the real double-dealers.
In 20 years, the politicians who sell us down the river now will be dead, but our children, and later their children and their children's children, will pay the price as they attempt to simply survive in a third world Hell. As my grandmother taught me, "If you don't listen, you'll have to feel."
By the way, I applaud Congressman Joe Donnelly's call for the deportation of illegal aliens. If you live in Indiana's 2nd District, please give Joe your full support.
