I just read David Easton's letter to the editor regarding taxes and immigration on our local level. My hats off to him for having the guts to ask the questions we all want the answers to but fear being labeled racists or uncaring.
Now, does the Times-Union have the nerve to supply the answers? If not, let me know and as a former correspondent for the Richmond Palladium Item in Richmond, Ind., I'll be glad to get down and get dirty in search of the truth.
Every American I know wants some answers.

Editor's Note: According to Wendy Long, the English as a Second Languarge Director for the Warsaw Community Schools, there are 996 English Language minority students in the school system, the majority of which are Hispanic. Of those, two-thirds were born in the U.S. and one-third were born in Kosciusko County. Under the federal No Child Left Behind Act, school officials are prohibited from asking if a student is documented or undocumented or if the student's parents are documented or undocumented. According to immigrationcounters.com, a Web site which compiles date from myriad source, there are an estimated 4,067,932 children of undocumented immigrants in U.S. schools.
