OSWEGO – Ilene D. Heaton Lentz Remington, 94, High Rise Apt., Mishawaka, formerly of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., passed away at 2:15 a.m. Oct. 7, 2015, at Golden Living Center, 12th Street, Mishawaka. She was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Leesburg, to Clyde and Mildred Heaton. She married Henry Letz, and later George Remington, and both are deceased. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Moose Lodge, both in Mishawaka, and American Legion, Osceola. Surviving are one son, Richard (and spouse Yvonne) Lentz; three grandsons, Tom, Todd and Troy Lentz; two granddaughters, Heather and Gretchen Lentz; two step-grandchildren, Tom Cabanow and Lori Berta; and two stepsons, Richard and Curt Remington. She leaves to cherish her memories many great-grandchildren and her caregivers, Phillip and Judy Funkhouser. Special thanks to Dr. Tieman, Dr. Shaikh, the nurses, CNAs of Golden Living Center and Asera Care Hospice, Elkhart, for the wonderful care; also to Elaine Reynolds Trufan, Fort Myers Fla., adopted daughter, granddaughter and best friend for many years of loving care.
