Icy Roads Cause Morning Crash

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department officers responded to a two-vehicle collision along the intersection of US 30 and South CR 450E, Warsaw, at 8:18 this morning. Kathryn M. Stemen, 30, Parks Schram Road, Warsaw, was traveling eastbound and lost control of the vehicle on the ice covered roadway. She crossed the median and struck westbound vehicle, driven by Cheraman Vamadevan, 49, Fort Wayne. Three children in Stemen’s vehicle; Dailyn Stemen, 7, Kylee Anders, 10, and Issac Stemen received minor injuries to their necks and faces. They were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Vamadevan suffered a laceration to his left wrist, but required no further medical attention. Public Information Officer Sgt. Chad Hill said westbound 30 was closed for approximately 30 minutes.
