Staff Report-
There’s still time to sponsor a carving for the “Fire & Ice” First Friday Feb. 5. The theme for 2016 is “Decades of Change,” so if you have a favorite time of your life, a memorable year in history, or the year your company started or even the year you were born, the ice carvers “can make that come alive for you in ice,” according to a provided press release from the Warsaw Community Development Corp. Ice blocks will be set around the downtown Warsaw area in the morning Feb. 5, and carving will begin around noon. There will be carving during the evening event, as well as hot chocolate, s’mores and warming stations. The release states, “It’s a really fun night to bundle up and bring the family out to watch a giant ice cube get carved into something really amazing.” Applications are available online at warsawcdc.org The cost is $225 for a 300-pound block, or $325 for a 600-pound block. For more information, call 574-376-0233. In March, there will be a tribute to Thaddeus Kosciusko.
