ROCHESTER - Hurndon Rudd, 83, of 6352 Fort Wayne Road, Rochester, died at 1:40 a.m. Dec. 29, 2010, while in the company of his family, in his residence.
He was born Jan. 21, 1927, in Salyersville, Ky., to Noah and Julie Coffee Rudd, and was raised by Edna Minix Rudd. On July 30, 1945, in Salyersville, he married Finettie Clark, who died April 8, 1988.
Surviving are four daughters, Marcella (and spouse Keith) Boyd, Karen Clark, Kathy (and spouse Ron) Moore and Debbie (and spouse Daryl) Powell, all of Rochester; four sons: Bob Rudd (and fiancé Robin), Yorktown; Jack Rudd and David (and spouse Linda) Rudd, all of Rochester; and Bernard (and spouse Katie) Rudd, Denver, Ind.; three sisters, Edna Penix and Barbara Daniels, both of Salyersville, and Augustine Castle, Flatgap, Ky.; a brother, E.J. Rudd, Salyersville; 18 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, six sisters and four brothers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Amber Karkosky-Litten officiating. Burial will be in Athens Hoover Cemetery.
Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
