First Class Fitness and Motivation is partnering with the Emergency Assistance program of Combined Community Services for a first annual food drive titled “Hungry to Help!” The drive is to provide kid-friendly foods for Dane’s Family Pantry at CCS. A large percentage of Kosciusko students are on either reduced or free lunch programs through their school, and summertime presents a challenge to parents struggling to make ends meet, according to a press release from CCS. During summer break, parents and caretakers have an additional one or two meals to provide each day. Hungry to Help is collecting kid- friendly foods such as peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese and kid’s drinks. It’s also selling the shirts for $15. Thanks to sponsorship from SMART Cabinetry, all proceeds from the shirts printed at a discount by Pandora Printing will go directly to purchase food, the release states. If interested in donating or purchasing a shirt, contact Eugene Shooter Landry or Peggi Lisenbee Wright at CCS via Facebook; by calling 574-269-6019, Ext. 222; or drop by CCS at 1195 Mariners Drive. The release states, “A huge thank you (goes out) to our sponsors Smart Cabinetry of New Paris, Pandora Printing of Warsaw and Eugene Landry of First Class Fitness and Motivation.”
