Human Body Cells

Posted
Ask any fifth-grade student at Pierceton Elementary School what makes up the cells in the human body and they might respond by saying a "cake mix, a bag of Skittles, a box of Mike and Ikes candies and even Snowball cupcakes."

The fifth-grade classes at Pierceton recently studied about the needs and function of plant and animal cells. The classes baked cakes to represent the animal cell and labeled the different parts using various goodies.

Brad Trump, a student, said, "It is fun to make cell cakes after we learned about them. The best part was when we got to eat the cell cakes."
