HS Roundup: Warsaw 4th In Elite Division At Marion InvitationalMARION – The Warsaw girls cross country squad finished fourth of 10 teams in the elite division of the Marion Invitational Saturday on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University.
Seven Lady Tigers, Charlene Orr, Lauren Orr, Angie Sanchez-Vijil, Emma Bohnenkamper, Taylor Gunter, Megan Metzger and Amanda Hermann, set personal records in the race. Mia Beckham paced the Lady Tigers with a time of 18:45, with Allison Miller clocking a 19:20 and Anna Craig checking in at 19:45.
The Tiger boys finished eighth in the elite division. Zeb Hernandez was 11th overall, with Xavi Ramirez 27th, Lucas Howett 28th, Taylor Mills 62nd and Nathaniel Gottschalk 113th.
The Wawasee boys team was fourth of 17 squads in the large school division. Luke Griner paced the Warriors, finishing sixth in 16:43. He was one of seven Warriors setting personal records in the meet.  Spencer Hare was seventh, Sam Griner 27th and Bennett Hoffert was 29th.
Neither the Whitko boys or girls teams had enough runners to field a full team, but all four runners finished with season-best times. Junior Logan Busz was 51st overall, Zach Freel was 87th, Erza Miller 12th and Caden Compton 183rd. For the Lady Wildcats, Sarah Walters was 20th, Hanna Yohe was 29th, Amanda Leppeck was 72nd and Angel Moyer was 118th.
Warsaw will take on Elkhart Memorial and Northridge today at Bonneyville Park. Whitko runs at Heritage today, and Whitko takes on Concord and Goshen at Ox Bow Park this afternoon.

Lady Squires Win Manchester Invitational
NORTH MANCHESTER – Senior Rae Bedke was the overall winner, with Jaelyn Webb finishing fifth and Tahnee Fuentes taking eighth to lead Manchester to the team title in its cross country invitational Saturday.
Tippecanoe Valley was 14th in the meet. Freshman Valeria Jiminez finished 62nd, Haley Hoover 68th, Claudia Ramos 70th, Alyssa Bell 77th, Lexi Derkes 79th, Lauren Sponseller 87th and Abbi Miller 88th.
In the boys race, Manchester was eighth and Valley 18th.
The Squires were paced by Drew Jones, who finished 38th overall. Ethan Davis was 42nd, Hunter Miller 46th, Ben Reichenbach 52nd, Wilson Nettleton 53rd, Montgomery Pattison 66th and Reece Adamiec 82nd.
The Vikings’ Justin Peconga was 78th, and Jared Mikel was 85th. Mitchell Smith was 96th, Colt Demske 108th, Evan Lowman 115th, Chevy Teeter 118th and Tristen Nuest 120th.
Lakeland Christian Academy didn’t field a full team, but Rye Stevens completed the course in 22:05, Trenton Parker in 22:28 and Turner Samuel in 24:09.
Next up for the Vikings and Squires is the Tippecanoe Valley Invitational on Saturday.

Valley, Manchester Finish 1-2 At Garrett Invitational
GARRETT – Tippecanoe Valley finished first, and Whitko second in the Garrett Invitational volleyball tournament Saturday.
Whitko beat Eastside and Churubusco before falling to Valley in the championship. Full results for the Lady Vikings were not available as of press time.
Valley travels to North Miami, and Whitko has a match at Peru, both in Three Rivers Conference play today.

Wawasee 5th, Valley 8th In CGA Tournament
PLYMOUTH – Wawasee finished fifth, and Tippecanoe Valley ninth in the 11-team Culver Girls Academy golf tournament at Swan Lake Resort Saturday.
Lake Central was the team champion, NorthWood was second, host CGA was third and Northridge fourth.
Aubrey Schmeltz had the low score for Wawasee, posting an 87. Madison Beaman was next at 96, Zoe White had a 106, Lesley Tayagua a 108 and Jadison Rostochak had a 111 for the Lady Warriors.
Victoria Biddle had a 97 for Tippecanoe Valley. Blake McBrier had a 123, Bethany Johnson a 127, Makayla Sandbakken a 132 and Jordan Krotke a 134 for the Lady Vikings.
Valley will travel to Meadow Valley Golf Club in Middlebury for a match with John Glenn and host Northridge today. Wawasee hosts Fairfield and Elkhart Central today at Maxwelton Golf Club.
