BOURBON - Trailing 42-40 after three quarters of play Saturday, Class A No. 1 Triton outscored visiting Northern State Conference opponent Culver 14-9 in the fourth quarter to pick up a 54-51 win.

Triton's girls basketball team is 12-0 overall and 5-0 in conference action.

The Trojans led 16-14 after the first quarter and trailed 30-28 at the half.

Sophomore Ashli Senff led Triton with 13 points, while Rachel Speicher and Betsy Salyer added 12. Amber Feldman scored 11 in the win, while Salyer led the team in rebounds with 13.

Culver's Stacy Stevens led all scorers with 27 points.

Jill Bair scored a game-high 29 points, while Tessa chipped in with 15. Junior Tabitha Pratt led Valley with 19 points, while freshman Rebekah Parker added 17. Valley falls to 7-6 overall, while the Class 3A No. 10 Zebras improve to 14-1. Rochester is 5-0 in the TRC, while Valley falls to 2-3. Valley will host Winamac tonight.

NorthWood improves to 10-2 overall and 3-1 in NLC play, while the Raiders fall to 6-8 and 1-3. NorthWood's Kasey Chamberlain led all scorers with 26 points, while teammate Carol Duncan chipped in with 15. Laura Carlson led Northridge with 10. NorthWood will be in action again Tuesday when it hosts Lakeland.

KCHE's varsity girls basketball team topped the Wabash Lady Marksmen 26-24 in overtime Friday, the third time the teams have hooked up this season. Two Eagles finished the game with double-doubles, Sarah Spite with 12 points and 15 rebounds, and Noelle Wallin with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The KCHE Eagles fell to Fort Wayne Christian Thursday, 46-41. Fort Wayne Christian took a 14-9 lead after the first quarter, but KCHE closed the gap to one, 24-23, by halftime. Fort Wayne Christian regained the lead in the third and then again in the fourth to get the win. Jon Erickson led the Eagles with 23 points and seven steals. KCHE is 6-4.

Wawasee's girls swim team traveled to Northern Lakes Conference rival Plymouth Saturday and was defeated 113-73.
