Masur was injured after being tackled from behind during the Elkhart Central game. He put his leg on ice for 20 minutes and could barely run, but he worked it out. Masur returned to the back line and was critical in the 1-0 Warsaw win. In the first half of the game against South Bend Riley, Masur's nose was broken. He put cotton in both nostrils and returned to play the entire second half. Warsaw won the game 2-0. He also played with a broken nose Thursday against Concord. Said Warsaw soccer coach Scott Bauer, "Determination and desire to contribute are some of his exceptional qualities."
