CULVER -ÊThe Triton boys basketball team faced Culver Military Academy Tuesday night in Culver and fell to the Eagles 82-60.

After one quarter of play, CMA led 17-11, but the Eagles outscored the Trojans 20-7 in the second frame to take a lead the Triton squad could not overcome.

Jackson Atoyebi led all scorers with 37 points, while Bub Shepherd added 17 for CMA.

Steven Boyer led the Trojans with 13 points, and Tyson Blackford pitched in 11.

Triton is 7-4, while CMA improves to 6-5.

Wawasee's losing streak reached eight with its Tuesday loss at Lakeland.

The Warriors were up 36-35 going into the final quarter of play, but less-than-stellar free throw shooting led to Wawasee's demise.

The Warriors hit just 2 of 9 free throws in the final frame, while Lakeland connected on 10 of 12 shots from the charity stripe.

Scott Beasley led the Warriors with 14 points, while Andrew Packer added 11.

Wawasee is 3-10 and will play at Concord Friday night in a Northern Lakes Conference matchup. Lakeland improves to 11-3.
