NORTH WEBSTER – Howard L. Ziegler, 81, of North Webster, died at 5:15 a.m. May 19, 2011, in his home. He was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Indianapolis, to Verl K. and Charlotte J. Apple Ziegler. On July 23, 1949, in Indianapolis, he married Mary Ann McComb, who survives. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School, Indianapolis, in 1948, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired in 1986 from Western Electric, Indianapolis, after 40 years and lived most of his life in Indianapolis until he retired to North Webster in 1986. He was a member of North Webster Church of God and Lakeland Kiwanis and American Legion Post 253, both in North Webster. Also surviving are two daughters, Judy Ann Ziegler and Beth Ann (and spouse Kevin) Smith, all of North Webster; a son, Howard L. Jr. (and spouse Pattie) Ziegler, North Webster; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the North Webster Church of God, North Webster, with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, with Bob Curry officiating.
