Howard “Bub” Patrick, age 69, of Claypool, passed away at 1:36 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2019, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He was born on Nov. 15, 1949, in Salyersville, Ky., to Monroe and Rosalie Hale Patrick. He was a lifelong resident of Kosciusko County.
On Oct. 5, 2006, he was united in marriage to Dianna Diehl in Winona Lake.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 20 years and obtained the rank of sergeant 1st class as an E-7. When he was finished with his military career, Bub continued working when he returned home. He was the owner of Warsaw Muffler and Brake and also worked at Ben’s Auto.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 49.
Some of his hobbies that he enjoyed were flying airplanes, drag racing (especially his 1970 Camaro “Thumper”), RC airplanes, fishing and karaoke singing. He was also an animal lover and he loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Dianna Patrick of Claypool; stepson, Dustin Norris of Moore, Okla.; stepdaughter, Danae Norris of Claypool; grandson, Thomas Danner of Warsaw; sisters, Virginia Smith and Teresa Rhoades; and brothers, Charlie Patrick and James Patrick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Todd Danner; and two brothers, Carl and Earl Patrick.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 31, in Some Place Else Saloon, Claypool. Interment will be private.
