HOW To Raffle Warsaw HomeA new home in Warsaw is being raffled off to raise funds to assist residents who need home repairs.
"Win A House 2009" is being held to benefit HOW, a not-for-profit housing organization. HOW's mission is to encourage and expand affordable housing by providing opportunities and choices through investing in people and communities.The house being raffled is a three-bedroom, 1,420 square-foot home in Northwest Woods Subdivision at 94 Sassafras Court, Warsaw.
An open house will be Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tickets will be available on site. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased until Aug. 29 at Mutual Bank branches in North Webster, Syracuse, and at all Warsaw Mutual Bank locations.
Tickets also can be purchased at the HOW office, 827 Union St. Suite 230 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m.
To get to the home, turn left at the Teacher's Credit Union on Ind. 15N.
Matt Coffel, president and owner of Coffel Construction, Bremen, and Kosciusko-Fulton County Builder's Association board member, said his company was happy to build the home.
"It is a great feeling to contribute and encourage others to create funds to better people's lives who are in need," Coffel said.
The funds collected from the raffle will be used to help improve homeowner's homes in Kosciusko County who do not have funds to make the repairs.
Subcontractors for the project included Kozon Plumbing & Heating, Syracuse, Hector's Drywall, Leesburg, and Lakes Region Painting, Warsaw. Materials for the project were purchased locally.
The raffle drawing will take place at Mutual Bank, 219 W. Market St., Warsaw, Sept. 19 at 4 p.m.
A person must be 18 years old to purchase a ticket.
Raffle prizes include first place, the home valued at $215,500; second place, $10,000; third place, $5,000; fourth through eighth place, $1,000; ninth through 13th place, $500; and 13th through 23rd place, $250.
Winners will be contacted by HOW following the raffle in person or within seven days after the drawing by certified mail at the address provided by the ticket purchaser. Winners must accept the ownership of the raffle prizes within 60 days of the raffle date.
