HOUSING OPPORTUNITY - DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT

Posted
On or about July 31, 2015, the City of Warsaw intends to apply to the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority for funding from the State Community Development Block Grant Program.  This program is funded by Title I of the Housing and community Development Act of 1974, as amended.  These funds are to be used for economic development, public facilities, and housing developments.  The purpose of this application shall be for Owner Occupied Rehab of homes of low-to-moderate income families living in the East Market Street corridor and scattered sites within the Warsaw city limits.
The City of Warsaw will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 6:15 pm, at the Warsaw City Chambers located at 102 S Buffalo Street, Warsaw IN to provide citizens an opportunity to express their views on community development and housing needs, past community development and housing activities, and the proposed Owner Occupied Rehab development.  In the years between 1997-2005, the City of Warsaw received Community Development Block Grant funds for previous owner occupied programs where homes of low-to-moderate income families within the city limits of Warsaw have received funding for repairs.  Records regarding the accounting of these beneficiaries and funds are available from Housing Opportunities of Warsaw, Inc., 109 W Catherine Street, Milford IN.  Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing or by prior written statement.  A plan to minimize displacement and provide assistance to those displaced has been prepared and is available to the public.  The applications will be available for review and comment on July 30, 2015.  Information concerning the proposed development may be obtained from Pamela Kennedy 574-269-7641 ext 103 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Monday thru Fridays.
