Board membership of the Warsaw Housing Authority will change next year.
Tom Lemon's term on the board is set to expire Dec. 31. Executive Director Laura Kaufman reminded the board the vacancy needs to be filled with a housing authority tenant. She also said a tenant has agreed to serve on both the housing authority and the Housing Opportunities of Warsaw Inc. Board.
The board agreed Sue Charlton would resign at the end of the year and Lemon would serve the remainder of her term through 2002. Charlton was commended by the board for her many years of service on the housing authority board.
Jake Murray is leaving Housing Opportunities of Warsaw, Inc. at the end of the year, Kaufman said, after 1-1/2 years as the housing programs manager. The search for a replacement is continuing and Kaufman said she intends to hire someone by mid-January.
She also presented the board with a quote from Dell for a new computer to run the HUD Section Eight rental assistance database. The current computer doesn't have the memory or processor speed to handle the large database. The board agreed Kaufman could seek other quotes from local businesses for comparison purposes.
In other business, the board approved the minutes and treasurer's report; reviewed Section 8 Program report and approved December claims. Kaufman presented the client payment for owner-occupied rehabilitation grants. Housing Opportunities of Warsaw Inc. financial statements were reviewed.
