Editor, Times-Union:
I agree with the governor on the need for affordable housing. I agree with him on reducing tax rate on qualified homes owned by the residents.
I disagree with the proposed percentage on qualified homes. It should be noted that each and every qualified residence get the same amount.
Why should a person living in a million dollar house get five times as much reduction as a person living in a two hundred thousand dollar house?Who needs the help the most? One can downsize and the other could be out on the street.
