House Fire

Posted

High winds hampered the efforts of firefighters trying to extinguish a house fire at 102 Warner Drive, Claypool. The home, owned by Gene Warner, caught fire about 1:20 p.m. Thursday and took approximately two hours to control. Warner, a Claypool fireman who helped extinguish the fire at his own home, suffered minor burns to his face and was treated and released from Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Firefighters believe the fire started from a malfunctioning wood-burning stove. Claypool Fire Department was assisted by Silver Lake and Burket fire departments. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
