A Warsaw residence sustained an estimated $25,000 damage in a fire Thursday morning. Warsaw Fire Department was called to the Maria Colon residence at 1509 E. Jefferson St., at 10:50 a.m., and found heavy smoke coming from the house and flames showing at the back door. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen due to an overloaded extension cord. Firefighters were on the scene for about three hours. The property is owned by Pam Slone. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
