A resident of this home sits outside the garage watching as Burket firemen remove a smoldering mattress from inside. Burket Fire Department responded to the 12:21 a.m. call today at the residence at 3574 Ind. 25S. The name of the homeowner/occupant was not available this morning. The people living in the home escaped without injury and a neighbor called 911 to summon the fire department. The cause of the fire is undetermined, but is not suspicious, according to Burket firefighter John Tucker.
