Ronald and Cynthia Hoppas, San Marcos, Calif., will celebrate their wedding anniversary June 28, 2009. Ronald and the former Cynthia Nichols were married June 28, 1964, at Claypool EUB Church, officiated by Wayne Johnson, cousin of the bride.
He retired from Dalton Foundries in 2006, after 45 years of service. She retired from Lake City Bank after 28 years. They moved to Southern California in 2007.
He graduated from Claypool High School in 1958, and went directly into the U.S. Marine Corp. She is a 1962 Mentone High School graduate.
The couple are the parents of two children, Kenton (and spouse Mimi) Hoppas, Encinitas, Calif., and Steve Hoppas, who died in 1996; and a granddaughter.
The couple will spend a few days at an Ocean Side Bed and Breakfast in San Clemente, Calif.
