Honeywell Center To Present Artist Demonstration Series

WABASH - The Honeywell Center will present an artist demonstration series featuring four regional artists showcasing their art.
The series is free and is sponsored by Sneaky Kitten Studio by Susan Stewart, and Make It Your Own Pottery - a "paint your own pottery" studio.
Tuesday at 6 p.m., Pamela Turnbow will present an introduction to plein air painting (painting outdoors) on the Honeywell Center plaza. Turnbow has been with the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association since 2000 and will demonstrate outdoor oil painting. Those wanting to attend are encouraged to bring their own materials and work alongside Turnbow.
Lisa Pelo-McNiece will bring her kiln to the plaza June 15 to provide a glass-blowing demonstration showcasing different glass blowing techniques. The Hoosier Salon Gallery at the Charley Creek Inn in downtown Wabash will feature Pelo-McNiece's work from June 9 to July 18.
On July 6, Jena Oke will demonstrate some weaving techniques that she often uses in her hand-woven pieces. The demonstration will feature eccentric weft with different stitches - soumak, rya, tabby and inlaid - all using handspun yarn on a cotton warp.
Another artist demonstration will take place separate from the series when Jerry Points arrives for the reception of his art June 23 at 6 p.m.Points will give an oil painting demonstration of landscapes at his reception. His art exhibit, sponsored by Deco Illusions, will be on display through July 14.
