In an opening suitable for a blockbuster movie or first-run Broadway hit, the 1999 Homes On Parade kicked off its run by hosting a VIP preview last night at Hunters Ridge.
The nine homes featured in this year's tour were all decked out in the finest interiors local designers could muster, and the builders of each home were on hand, dressed in their best formal evening wear.
The several hundred special guests were treated to music, food, libations - and a first peek at the homes the rest the county can see starting Saturday through Sept. 19.
"It ( the VIP night) went really well," said Carol Huffer, executive director of the Builders Association of Kosciusko-Fulton Counties. "I've received nothing but great compliments from everyone who attended. The builders should be very proud. They did a great job in building some beautiful homes."
Huffer said Parade visitors will have the opportunity to vote for the best home on the parade and the People's Choice will be awarded next Friday based on those results.
