SYRACUSE - Homer Graber, 73, of North Webster, died at 6:05 p.m. Dec. 2, 2009, in his residence following a six-month illness.
He was born Dec. 27, 1935, in Rolette, N.D., to William J. and Nora Slaubaugh Graber.
He graduated from Etna Green High School in 1955, and moved to the North Webster area in 1960 from there. He retired in 2008 from Pacemaker Buildings, North Webster. In his early years he drove dairy and bread truck routes in the Kosciusko County area. He was a local businessman in North Webster for many years and farmed. He also formerly drove a semi trailer for Indiana Truss Co. He attended both the North Webster Church of God and North Webster Church of the Brethren, where he was formerly part of the church choir and sang in several quartets. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are two sisters, Margaret (and spouse Ervin) Miller, Goshen, and Elva (and spouse Royce) Farmwald, Goshen; seven brothers: Joseph (and spouse Ruth) Graber, Spooner, Wis.; Dr. Benjamin (and spouse Norma) Graber, Waterloo; Clarence (and spouse Grace) Graber, Elkhart; Glen (and spouse Ruth) Graber, Spooner, Wis.; Allen (and spouse Ruth Ann) Graber, North Webster; Carl (and spouse Candace) Graber, Golden, Colo.; and Arden (and spouse Evidene) Graber; Etna Green; a stepbrother, Kenneth Baugher, Warsaw; and a foster son, Will Darr, Syracuse. He was preceded in death by two infant daughters and a brother.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at North Webster Church of God with Pastors Bob Wyman and Jeff Boyer officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery.
