Homer G. “Gus” Sideris, Warsaw, passed away at his residence at 11:35 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at the age of 94.
He was born on July 1, 1924, in Akron, Ohio, to Calliope Maistros Sideris and Avgerinos E. Sideris. On March 5, 1960, he was married to Nancy Carroll Hatton Sideris, who survives.
Gus proudly served in the U.S. Navy, and was a star baseball player for them during the World War II years.
A memorial service honoring Gus’s life will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25 at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 210 S. High St., Warsaw, and officiated by Dr. Erik Ohman.
Burial took place at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
