Warsaw Community High School’s Meredith Hollar returned to the soccer field in a big way Thursday night. After missing her entire junior season with a knee injury, the Grace College-bound Hollar scored five goals and had three assists against the Huntington North Lady Vikings, as Warsaw opened its season with a 9-0 win. Hollar, who tied her own school record with the five goals in one game, scored three times in the first half as the Lady Tigers held a 5-0 advantage at the break. Both sophomore Danielle Hutcherson and senior Gabby Monroy scored two goals for Warsaw. Senior Erica Gauger had two assists in the win, while classmates Emily Tandy and Kelly Williams, sophomore Brooklyn Jackson and freshman Elizabeth Van Wormer had one assist each. Junior Paige Coolman gave up all nine goals, while also making 11 saves for the Lady Vikings, who fell to 0-2 on the season. For Warsaw, junior Abby Schue only had to make one save. Both goalies played all 80 minutes. The Lady Tigers are back in action Saturday in the Fort Wayne Snider Invite at IPFW.
