Fifty hogs were lost in a 6:51 a.m. barn fire Saturday at 3540 S. CR 900E, Pierceton. The property is occupied by Kevin Ousley, but the barn belongs to his father, Roy Ousley of Larwill. The barn was fully engulfed in flames when Pierceton firefighters arrived on the scene. Ousley was awakened by a passerby who saw the fire. The cause of the fire was listed as overloaded extension cords. Pierceton Fire Department was assisted by Larwill and North Webster fire departments, with a total of about 35 men on the scene.
