The Kosciusko County Community Foundation recently awarded two local Warsaw students with Phillip Hochstetler Memorial Scholarships. Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept. Det./Sgt. Phil Hochstetler was killed in the line of duty June 29, 1994. Det./Sgt. Hochstetler was pursuing a degree in criminal justice at the time of his death. Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine began the scholarship program for local area students who were also pursuing a career in the criminal justice field. This year's recipients were Latasha Goodwan and Matthew Holderman, both of Warsaw Community High School. Holderman also was a recipient of the 2008 Indiana Sheriff's Association Scholarship Award.
