The Kosciusko County Community Foundation recently awarded two Warsaw students with the Phillip Hochstetler Memorial Scholarships. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Detective Sergeant Phil Hochstetler was killed in the line of duty on June 29, 1994. Hochstetler was pursuing a degree in criminal justice at the time of his death. Then-sheriff Aaron Rovenstine began the scholarship program for local area students who were also pursuing a career in the criminal justice field. This year’s recipients were Zarek Finley and Meghan Boston, both of Warsaw High School. Finley is a student at Ancilla College and Boston is attending Ball State University, and both are pursuing criminal justice degrees.
