History of Wine Presentation For KLS Oct. 18

Posted
Kosciusko Literacy Services will present Dr. Elliot Engel Oct. 18 when he gives his presentation on “The History and Mystery of Wine.”

The annual speaking engagement by Engel will be at 6 p.m. at The Taharaa Room of the Noa Noa Wood Grill and Sushi Bar, 310 Eastlake Drive, Warsaw.

It is sponsored by The Grossnickle Family Foundation and R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co.

Engel will trace the ancient origins of wine and continue the story through the wide and often wild popularity of wine today. Special attention will be given to the competing drinks which almost destroyed wine’s popularity in the 17th century, and to the unexpected consequences of the Muslim prohibition of all spirits beginning in 700 A.D.

The author dinner benefits literacy programming in Kosciusko County.

RSVPs should be given early, and sponsorships are available. Contributions are non-refundable, and cash contributions are fully tax deductible. Dinner contributions are tax deductible with the exception of $25 per person. Tickets held at the door.
