The driver involved in the Dec. 25 double fatality in Syracuse is still under medical supervision.
Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Hampton released a statement Wednesday afternoon that his office has received inquiries regarding the medical status of Mickgomery W. Hisey, 26, Syracuse.
The statement says Hisey is still under medical supervision at a medical facility. Due to HIPAA privacy laws, more information about Hisey's condition or the medical facility can not be released by Hampton's office, the statement says.
"Rest assured, law enforcement is currently and continually monitoring his whereabouts as the investigation continues,” it states.
Hisey allegedly was speeding westbound in the area known as “Crazy Corners” at the intersection of Syracuse–Webster Road and CR 1200N, when he  passed another vehicle at the crest of a hill on CR 1200N, according to prior police reports. His vehicle struck a car headed in the opposite direction driven by Stephen Conrad, 67, Syracuse.
Conrad’s son, Stephen Conrad II, 32, and wife, Kim Conrad, 61, Syracuse, were killed in the crash. The younger Conrad, a resident of Phoenix, Ariz., was home for the holidays.
The elder Conrad and Brody Jordan, 23, Syracuse, a passenger in Hisey’s vehicle, were taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne following the crash. Both have since been discharged from the hospital.
