Sharon and Don Hillis, Whales Pass, Alaska, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lakota Crystal Hillis, to Thaddeus Du Bois. He is the son of Dennis and Julie Du Bois, North Webster.
The bride-to-be graduated from the University of Alaska, Anchorage with a bachelor's degree in natural science and currently attends East Tennessee State University where she is studying for a doctorate in physical therapy.
The groom-elect is a 1991 graduate of Wawasee High School, Syracuse, and received a bachelor's degree in art from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. He creates art for commission.
The couple plan a July 3 wedding in North Webster.
