SOUTH WHITLEY – Hildreth J. Wolfe, 86, of South Whitley, died at 8:06 a.m. Sept. 11, 2012, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, where she was admitted Friday.
She was born July 2, 1926, in Whitley County, to Edgar A. and Nellie Ward Sherbahn. On July 20, 1945, she married Galen Wolfe Jr., who died Jan. 11, 1997.
She graduated from South Whitley High School in 1944. She lived on a farm in Whitley County and moved to her home in South Whitley in 2004. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband on the farm. For more than 10 years she worked at Heckman Bindery, North Manchester. She was a member of United Methodist Church, South Whitley.
Surviving are four children: Eddie G. (and spouse Karen) Wolfe, Warsaw; Susan K. (and spouse Terry) Bouse, Silver Lake; Barbara A. (and spouse Gale) Burkholder, South Whitley; and Patti J. (and spouse Gerald) Sobecki, Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, South Whitley, with Pastor Robert Barton, and Associate Pastor Bruce Wrightsman officiating. Burial will be in the South Whitley Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. ***** Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church of South Whitley.
