Lady Tiger Soccer Blanks Goshen
GOSHEN – After a scoreless first half, Brianna Buhrt scored on an assist from Delaney Taylor to lead Warsaw to a 2-0 win at Goshen in Northern Lakes Conference girls soccer Tuesday.
Anna Grill scored the other goal for the Lady Tigers.
“Goshen played an excellent first half as both team had an even run of play,” said Warsaw coach Jon Hoover. “Chloe Snow came up with a huge save in the first half to keep us in the game. After some halftime adjustments, we began to find success in the attacking third of the field.
“Brenna Buhrt and Anna Grill were outstanding tonight. I’m really proud of how our backline stayed composed under pressure. Brenna Shipley and Dayle Harvey caused problems offensively and defensively for Goshen, while Alex Koontz and Olivia Herman continued to turn away Goshen’s attackers.
“This backline has earned their way to three straight shutouts through their workrate and determination. They have become a difficult group to get by.”
The junior varsity match was won by Goshen 5-1. Carlie Hastings scored the lone goal for the Lady Tigers.
Warsaw (4-2-1 overall, 3-0 NLC) will host Homestead in a non-conference match Thursday.
Lady Squires Fall
NORTH MANCHESTER – North Miami did something Tuesday that no other girls soccer team in the Three Rivers Conference had done in two seasons; beat Manchester. The Lady Warriors won 2-0.
Manchester will host Huntington North on Thursday in a non-conference match.
