A win over Northridge Thursday at home would have given the Warsaw girls soccer team a share of the 2011 Northern Lakes Conference Championship.
Instead, Warsaw and Northridge played to a 0-0 draw, resulting in the Lady Raiders claiming the NLC title all to themselves.
The regular season finale for each team left Northridge with a 5-0-2 in the NLC, while Warsaw finished at 5-1-1.
In the tie, Warsaw had two opportunities for scores, both coming from senior Hannah Cutshall.
Cutshall’s first attempt came in the first half, when she got past two defenders to get a shot, but it hit the post. With 18 minutes remaining Cutshall had another chance for a score, but her 30-yard shot was saved by Northridge goalkeeper Juliana Skow, who had to do a full stretch to deny the goal.
The shutout was Warsaw’s 12th of the season.
With the regular season wrapped up, Warsaw now prepares to face Plymouth at the Plymouth Sectional Thursday at 5 p.m.
