WINAMAC — The Tippecanoe Valley boys cross country team finished fourth at Saturday’s Winamac Invitational, while the girls didn’t field enough runners for a qualifying score.
In the seven-team field, Culver Military Academy won the boys race with 17 points, followed by Winamac’s 84, Caston’s 102 and Valley’s 103.
CMA placed five runners in the top six, led by Leopoldo Burgnete first-place finish in a time of 16:37.
Valley’s Brandon Tolson placed ninth in 18:17 and Brandon Maull was 15th in 19:11.
In the girls race, Culver Girls Academy won with 17 points, followed by North Judson’s 59, Winamac’s 63 and Caston’s 90.
CGA’s Olivia Martinez was the top runner, placing first in 20:17, while Valley was led by Courtney Burns’ fifth-place finish, which she achieved in a time of 20:46.
Valley will compete in Thursday’s Three Rivers Conference Meet in North Manchester.
