Squire Comeback Falls Just Short In 51-48 Loss To Leo
NORTH MANCHESTER – After trailing at the end of three quarters, Manchester could get no closer than three points in a 51-48 loss to visiting Leo in a non-conference boys basketball game Monday night.
“It was a very competitive game tonight. We had our chances to win late in the game, but just came up a little short,” Manchester head coach Mark Underwood said.
“I was proud of the way we battled down the stretch. We entered the fourth down by seven points, but never gave up as we got defensive stops in the final period holding them to only 10 points. We also picked it up offensively in the second half as we scored 30 of our 48 points after the break.”
Leo hit nine shots from beyond the arc, and made 10 free throws in 12 tries to Manchester’s 2-of-3 effort.
Manchester was led by Koehl Fluke’s 17 points. David McAtee and Devon Rooney had eight points each for the Squires.
Friday night the Squires (3-11) will host Tippecanoe Valley in a Three Rivers Conference game.
