With her daughter as an inspiration, Heidi Um took an opportunity to open her own business.
From that inspiration sprang Bella Boutique For Kids, 1987 N. Detroit St. in Warsaw.
“My inspiration is my daughter who loves dressing up and is very picky about her clothing,” said Um. “I have always wanted to open a business and have always been interested in children's clothing.”
The opportunity came as her husband’s family just built a four-unit building at the Detroit Street site.
“So this was the perfect opportunity to follow my dream,” said Um.
Um said her focus is on children’s clothing that isn’t available anywhere else in the area.
Giggle Moon, Mud Pie, Cach Cach and Tralala are some of the brands customers can find at Bella Boutique For Kids.
They are higher end brands and are only sold to boutiques.
They also carry Melissa and Doug toys.
The store is 1,350 square feet.
“For children, I carry sizes 0-7. I also carry maternity clothing, doll clothing, children's shoes, hair accessories, hats and jewelry. I also have many unique baby gifts.”
Bella Boutique is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
