Herta L. Voss, 77, died at 1:20 a.m. Nov. 28, 2008, in Mason Health and Rehab, Warsaw.

She was born March 2, 1931, in Hindenburg, Germany, to Bruno and Martha Andros Wallon, who preceded her in death. On April 25, 1953, in Berlin, Germany, she married Johannes Hans F. Voss, who died April 5, 1998.

She and her husband owned many businesses, including Abcom Inc., Mishawaka; Lakeshore Grocery and Lake of the Woods, Bremen; and the former Open Air Market, Warsaw. She grew up in Berlin, immigrated with her husband and infant son, Juergen, to the United States in 1955, settling in Richmond. She and her husband resided in northern Indiana until they moved to Englewood, Fla., in 1996. She moved back to Warsaw in January 2007. Almost a year ago, she underwent a double aneurism surgery. Due to numerous complications, she was never able to return to her home.

Surviving are a son, Juergen (and spouse Betsy) Voss, Warsaw; a daughter, Sylvia (and spouse Joseph) Catanzarite, Bern, Switzerland; three grandchildren: Michelle and Matthew Voss, both of Warsaw, and Jessica Catanzarite, Bern. She was preceded in death by a brother, Horst Wallon.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw, with the Rev. Stewart Floyd of Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
