MENTONE – Hershell Shepherd, 74, rural Warsaw, died at 2:14 p.m. March 28, 2016, at Vibra Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born Jan. 21, 1942, in Hite, Ky., to Woots and Anna Mae Scarberry Shepherd. On Oct. 31, 1960, in Drift, Ky., he married Frankie Mullins, who passed away Nov. 3, 2005. He was a farm manager for Creighton Brothers for almost 40 years. He loved working on cars and enjoyed Westerns and fishing. Surviving are three daughters: Margaret (and spouse Michael) Case, Printer, Ky.; Jane (and spouse George) Meade and Sue Shepherd, all of Warsaw; a son, Arthur Shepherd, Nashville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister; and a brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a sister. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Pastor Dean Ealey officiating.
