NORTH MANCHESTER – Herbert E. Moyer, 84, North Manchester, passed away at 7:45 p.m. July 6, 2015, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester. He was born Sept. 30, 1930, in Peru, to J. Lee and Bertha Easterday Moyer. On Oct. 31, 1952, he married Dora E. Betten, who survives. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He worked at Heckman Bindery, North Manchester, for 10 years in sales. He retired in 1993 after 18 years as sales representative for Associated Libraries. He was a member of American Legion Post 286, North Manchester. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. He and his wife spent many winters in Ocala, Fla. He attended Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester. Also surviving are: a son, Robert (and spouse Tanya) Moyer, North Manchester; two daughters, Diana (and spouse Brad) Lankford, Warsaw, and Judy (and spouse John) Moyer-Schmitt, Ocala; two grandsons, Craig Lankford, Noblesville, and Matthew Lankford, Fishers; and a brother, Meredith (and spouse Bev) Moyer, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial is in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
