ROCHESTER – Herbert Allen Ballenger, 91, of 1729 Wabash Ave., Rochester, died at 6:25 a.m. March 22, 2012, in Life Care Center.
He was born Jan. 2, 1921, in Fulton County, to Marvin and Ola Riggle Ballenger. His wife, Gloria, died May 19, 2009.
Surviving are a daughter, Krystal K. Smith, Rochester; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
He also was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Athens, with graveside military rites by members of the LeRoy Shelton American Legion 36 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars 1343, both in Rochester.
Calling is from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home. ***** Memorials may be made to the food pantry or the charity of the donor’s choice.
