SYRACUSE – Henry L. Kilmer, 98, died March 31, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 9, 1916, in Elkhart to Rufus and Fanny Ernest Kilmer. On Dec. 24, 1938, in Elkhart, he married Dorothea M. Mullen, who died May 3, 2003.
He was a lifelong area resident and former member of Syracuse Church of the Brethren, more recently attending People’s Bible Church, Benton. He worked in quality control for Liberty Homes for 30 years. After retirement he did maintenance work for Oakwood Park.
Surviving is a daughter, Zelma M. Folger, Syracuse; daughter-in-law, Sally Kilmer, Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, LaMar Kilmer; and nine brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Friday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, with the Rev. John Randolph of People’s Bible Church officiating. Burial is at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Paris Cemetery.
