To all the animal lovers of Kosciusko County, please we need dog walkers. On average the animal welfare has about 60 to 80 dogs, not including puppies, that desperately need some time out of the kennel. The only time they are taken out of their kennels is in the morning when their kennels are being cleaned. These dogs don't want to go to the bathroom where they sleep, but they have no other choice. If you can spare some time to come in and give these dogs a short walk to do their business and get a little time out of their kennel it would truly help to make their stay at the kennel a better experience. Please help these dogs to have a better existence until they can find a new home.
The treatment and care of the animals has greatly improved just over the last year. But the staff can't do it all. They need our help.
In addition to the dogs, there are cats that would love to be taken out of their cages and cuddled, even if it is just for a short while.
The greatest need for volunteers is during the week. Kennel hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday; and 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday. The Animal Welfare League is located just off U.S. 30E behind TSC.
Please do not ignore the plight of these animals. Animals are quick to give unconditional love, and your help will be truly appreciated.
