Heleta Joyce 'Leta' Stouder

Heleta Joyce "Leta" Stouder, 88, formerly of Warsaw, went to be with Jesus at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 4, 2010, under the loving care of Caring Junction, Mishawaka.

She was born Oct. 14, 1921, in Durand, Mich., to Earl and Gladys Tate Dunham. On Oct. 16, 1941, she married Lloyd E. Stouder, who died March 19, 2002.

She was the widow of the co-founder and vice president of Penguin Point Franchise Systems Inc., Warsaw. A 1940 graduate of Gas City High School, she was a member of the Warsaw Altrusa Club and the Abundant Life Assembly of God, Warsaw. She and her husband had a fond love of Fort Myers, Fla., where they spent many winters.

"She left the legacy of what working hard and abundant love for her children and grandchildren could accomplish; for years she worked tirelessly seven days a week alongside her husband at Penguin Point #2 in Warsaw in order to build their business. She also supported him in other business ventures around the Warsaw area."

Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn (and spouse Ronald) Streby, Goshen, and Barbara (and spouse Jeff) Ward, Atlanta, Ga.; a son, Les Stouder, Nashville, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William Dunham; and three sisters, Mary Niverson, Martha Dunham and Donna Lucas.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Glen Mitchell, former pastor of Abundant Life Assembly of God, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
