PIERCETON — Helen Mort, 85, Pierceton, passed away at 12:28 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, in Parkview-Randalia Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born Oct. 29, 1932, in Chicago, Ill., to Frank and Justine Radostits Augustine.
Helen was a 78-year resident of Whitley and Kosciusko counties. She was united in marriage to Paul Mort in 1951; he preceded her in 1985.
She was formerly employed by Pletcher’s Market and Pierceton Foods as a bookkeeper and most recently was the receptionist for Mort’s Chiropractic Clinic, Pierceton. She was a 1950 graduate of South Whitley High School and a member of First Baptist Church, Pierceton.
Survivors include her children: David Mort, Pierceton; Phillip (spouse Diane) Mort, Santa Clara, Calif.; and Dr. Susan Mort, Pierceton. In addition, grandchildren Christopher, Timmy, Alison, Tara, William and Jennifer and great-grandchildren Joshua, Orion, Rhyett and Beau survive.
She was preceded by her husband, one brother and one sister.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 26, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton.
Interment will be at later date in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
