Helen M. Ohner, 85, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Oct. 19, 2014, in Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake. She was born Sept. 8, 1929, in Allentown, Pa., to George R. and Leah M. Betz Nonnemaker. On Dec. 23, 1950, in Reading, Pa., she married Floyd R. Ohner, who died Nov. 7, 1989. She was a supervisor at a garment factory in Allentown for several years. She traveled with spontaneity and enjoyed eating out. Her family was important to her. Surviving are a daughter, Cindy (and spouse Herbert) Bateman, Leesburg; a granddaughter, Leah (and spouse Travis) Price, Lewisville, Texas; a sister, Marian Freer, Allentown; a half-sister, Catherine “Molly” (and spouse Clark) Ohner, Rainelle, W. Va.; and a stepsister, Mary Schwab, East Allentown. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Betty Wieand, Caroline Furry and Mae Shelhamer; and two brothers, Charles and Mike Nonnemaker. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Goshenhoppen Cemetery, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, Pa., with her son-in-law, the Rev. Dr. Herbert Bateman, officiating.
