STURGIS, Mich. - Helen M. Chupp, 90, of Sturgis, Mich., died April 9, 2009, in Thurston Woods Village.
She was born March 20, 1919, in Warsaw, to J.C. and Inez Whitacre Kyle. On Dec. 28, 1934, in Warsaw, she married Irvin Frey. This marriage ended in divorce. On Dec. 11, 1955, in Elkhart, she married Harvey S. Chupp, who died Jan. 1, 1961.
She moved to Sturgis from Warsaw in 1977. She was a homemaker and worked at several restaurants in Warsaw, Goshen and Sturgis, including the Chicken Coop and Murphy Mart.
Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Antonides, Sturgis; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her a daughter, a great-great-grandson, two brothers and a sister.
Services were Tuesday at Hackman Family Funeral Homes, Hackman Chapel, Sturgis, with Larry Wallman officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
