Helen Louise Rhinehart, 95, Kosciusko County, passed away Sept. 7, 2014, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born June 13, 1919, in Tippecanoe Township, Kosciusko County, to William and Mabel Woodard Lippincott. On Feb. 9, 1944, in Warsaw, she married Noel W. Rhinehart, who preceded her in death July 10, 1989. She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County and attended Oswego/Leesburg schools and was 1937 class valedictorian of Leesburg High School. She was a homemaker and began caring for children when her younger sister was born. Her first paid job was right out of high school when she became a nanny. She aided in the start of the former Warsaw Community Service Day Care and was its director for 13 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and served in many areas of the church – especially where children’s ministry was involved. She was a member of the church’s United Methodist Women and a former member of Pythian Sisters and Zerelda Reading Club. She enjoyed cross stitching, embroidery work, having lunch with friends and working crossword puzzles. She enjoyed cooking – including at Epworth Forest church camp. It was common to see her transporting kids to and from music and sporting events. She also enjoyed writing historical and genealogical pieces that she had researched, including the intense research required to be included as a “Pioneer Family of Kosciusko County.” She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Leedy, Chattanooga, Tenn.; a son, William “Jack” Rhinehart, Fort Wayne; a grandson, Theo (and spouse Holly) Laughner, Chattanooga; a granddaughter, Krista (and spouse Sean) Knepp, Sevierville, Tenn.; six great-grandchildren: John, Audrey, Hannah, Jack, Cote and Zane. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marie Lippincott, who died Jan. 29, 2008. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, with Pastors Toni Carmer of the church and Cindy Gackenheimer of Celebration United Methodist Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial is in Oswego Cemetery. Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
